Moving Is Hard

IMG_2245

Moving is definitely hard work and very stressful. However, it can also be a very exciting time. The opportunity for a fresh start. The chance to make new friends. The adventures of finding exciting new places to visit and things to do.

One of the most challenging parts of moving is the need to find a new place for haircuts, a new babysitter, grocery store, hardware, coffee shop…the list goes on and on. One recent study said that over 30 million people move in the US each year, and they easily spend over $10,000 getting their new house established. Wow…I’m seeing a few dollar signs here. The same article mentioned that over 50% of new movers will use the first salesperson that contacts them.

As a marketer, this information provides you with a great opportunity to reach that new mover who may be interested in what you have to offer. Let’s take a look at the sports world.

SPORTS INDUSTRY:

Let’s start out with what we were talking about earlier as the exciting elements of moving.

1. A Fresh Start

Unless you have had recent championships to celebrate, a new franchise to follow could be just the dash of excitement you didn’t know you were missing in your life.

2. A Chance to Make New Friends

What better place than a sporting event to meet a few people in your new neighborhood. Similar interest of having a nice cold beverage while talking about whether or not bunts are good for the game. What more do you need?

3. New Places to Visit and Things to Do

Once the utilities are set up and your dentist is picked out, the real fun can begin. It’s time to go to the local ballpark or arena and relax for a few hours. Let’s grab a roster and see who these players are. Or better yet, grab a souvenir and walk around the venue to check it out.

What's Next?

As a sports ticket sales organization, the opportunity to reach this unique set of prospective fans through mail, email or in-person visits at the ballpark can be a very interesting route to think about. Reaching these fans by phone is difficult these days with Do Not Call Registries and the lack of home phone lines. So many teams are using the opportunity to invite these fans to the stadium. Once they are there, you can then bring them a hat or shirt and get to know them better.

We also have a variety of mailers that teams have used to reach these prospective fans.  Click here to look through a variety of examples.

You can reach New Movers that have moved in the last 6-12 months, are new to the area, have certain household income level and are living a certain distance from your venue.

We are all in the business of creating new fans and making memories.  As we like to say, “Building Crowds, Together.”
